K-9 Division

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office currently has two proud canine members of the canine unit, usually referred to as the “K9 Unit.”  Their names are “KILO” and “SHADOW.” They are dogs that are specially trained in the detection and prevention of crime, including the detection of narcotics and other illegal drugs, as well as use in the search efforts of fleeing criminals. Both K9 units are assigned to the Patrol Division and are most often used to detect illegal drugs in vehicles.
